”The WhatsApp group” I mean not just a normal WhatsApp group but a one you wouldn’t want to miss a message. A group which was created on the 6th April, 2015 by MTN (not his real name actually) with 98 participants present.
The name Soccer Arena was given to the group but I can tell you that we talk things outside football with 40% of banters coming from Music, Movies, politics etcetera but to be frank Football is the heart of our discussion day in day out.
Soccer Arena isn’t about the football or any other discussion of the day but the participants which you can call your friends or in my own phrase “friend-brothers”. I’ve met friends and loved (I’m not a gay...lol) also, likes of Zico and Victor Neymar, for the loved ones like Saint, BMF, Lech, Boss Vee, Zico ( my stubborn Neighbor), Neymar Victor, Ranking ( the gigantic Ghanaian), Cypher, nissy,jbie, sulex , Morgan etcetera. I love all the participant but i don't love all. Friends that will educate and help you in time of need.
The vibes and sauce in the group will trigger your fancy and you’ll do anything possible to come back to the group if you’re out of data or any other hindrance. With rules, its firmness and rigidity is the best I’ve seen in a WhatsApp group (5 groups currently). We have months or perhaps times for QUIZ (football quiz), Facts (#Asuzufacts, which is done by me and sometimes stubborn Zico). We have quiz group of course, likes of Conquistadors (Champion), Gladiators, Warlords and Pirates, and currently is SOCCER ARENA WORLD CUP PREDICTIONS CHAMPIONSHIP with the winner at the end of the World Cup will go home with the Sum of Two Thousand Naira. With Intelligent folks and Smart participants, it’s a hard notch to crack for you to be the winner of the championship. With Participants spread across the country, Kano, Rivers, Oyo, Lagos, Kaduna, Ogun, Cross river, etcetera and outside Nigeria territory, like Ghana and Kenya.
In conclusion to my article, I believe there are other groups out there with similarities or perhaps better vibes than Soccer Arena but they don’t offer you same competition.
